12th INTERNATIONAL CHORAL COMPETITION MARIBOR 2013

The Winner of 12th International Choral Competition Maribor 2013 is:

The Swedish choir Stockolms Musikgymnasium Chamber Choir led by conductor Helene Stureborg won the finale of the 12th Maribor International Choral Competition, held today in a crowded Union hall in Maribor, which means they will participate in next year’s competition for the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing 2014 in Debrecen, Hungary. This was the decision of the international jury consisting of Stephen Connolly (Great Britain), president of the jury, Helena Fojkar Zupančič (Slovenia), Laurent Gendre (Switzerland), Urša Lah (Slovenia) in Leon Shiu-wai Tong (Hong Kong, China). The jury has presented the winner with »Gallus«, a statuette made for the occasion by academic sculptor Metka Kavčič Takač.
