SPECIAL PROJECTS
CULTURAL SCHOOLThe cultural school intentionally connects the cultural and educational sphere, which are indispensable partners in the process of cultural education. The professional approach of the project is the principle that the schools gladly accept, since it enables suitable development, presentation, promotion and evaluation of work in the framework of extracurricular activities. The “Cultural School” project is intended for primary schools. With the project, we want to present top quality school achievements in the area of culture to the wider public. In that way, we wish to encourage schools to support creativity of the young in various areas of art and provide additional education for students and their mentors regarding cultural activities. The Cultural School is a complex project, primarily intended for extracurricular activities from the field of culture in primary schools. It has a clear goal – to raise the quality and the range of active participation in culture by students and their parents, grandparents and mentors through extracurricular activities that are not part of the school curricula. The main purposes are to increase efforts for adequate cultural education in primary schools, enable creativity of the young in various areas of art, support quality achievements, care for education of participants and mentors in cultural engagement and establish school as the hub of cultural programmes in local environments with the purpose of promoting creativity, lifelong learning and networking. Thus, the cultural school intentionally connects the cultural and educational sphere, which are indispensable partners in the process of cultural education. The Cultural School Project takes place at the local, regional and national level through the network consisting of 59 JSKD branch offices throughout Slovenia.
