DELAVNICE / MENTORJI
Dobro jutro telo / Good morning body I-III
SLO
Delavnica Dobro jutro, telo bo vsak dan uvod v celodnevni program 1. Jesenske plesne šole. Pod vodstvom različnih pedagogov bomo z nizom raznolikih praks počasi prebudili telo, ga ogreli, začutili, raztegnili in pripravili na nadaljnje plesne treninge.

The Good Morning, Body workshop will serve as the daily warm-up and gentle introduction to the Winter Dance School program. Guided by various teachers, we will wake the body through a range of practices—warming, stretching, sensing, and preparing it for the training that follows.
Each morning will offer a different approach, from Pilates, yoga, and somatic techniques to subtle movement explorations, allowing participants to enter their dance day with greater awareness, openness, and ease.
The workshop is suitable for anyone who wishes to begin their dance day in connection with themselves, in movement, and with positive energy.
Ann Papoulis: Cunningham plesna tehnika / Cunningham dance technique III
SLO:

In this class you will learn the fundamentals of the Cunningham technique — comprehensive back & leg work centered in the pelvis. After the warm-up you will enhance your ability to use your energy to inhabit and dialogue with the space around you through an adagio, a phrase moving across the floor and jumps. Emphasis throughout the class is on focusing both the body and mind in order to unleash your physical power.

PLESATI z UMom TELESA
DANCING with the MIND of the BODY
What do you think about when you are dancing?
How do your thoughts impact how you move?
In this workshop we will consider these questions. We will play with images from your inner life, from art, from the waters of the Adriatic Sea…, exploring how they can expand and enrich the palette of your dancing.
Ann Papoulis is a performing and visual artist. The dialogue between the mind and the body underlies her creations. She began teaching at the age of 23 at the Cunningham Studio in Manhattan. She has since taught technique classes and workshops for schools and companies in the US and throughout Europe. Among her performances is Pokrajina Misli an opera she directed, choreographed and composed at the National House of Opera and Ballet in Ljubljana.

Tomaž Simatović: Do plesa iz telesa / Dance from the Body I-III
SLO
Trenutno živi in dela v Avstriji, kjer razvija plesne, in participatorne projekte v okviru “Laborarory for Participative Imaginaries”, v sodelovanju z Andrásem Meszericsom.

The "Dance from the Body" workshop is dedicated to the exploration of the inner body and movement and dance creation. It is designed for anyone wishing to learn how to translate inner impulses into dance and to approach dance creation by listening to the body. We will create dance rooted in the authenticity of the moment, emotional quality, and kinaesthetic energy. We will develop movement themes that eventually lead us into a flow to which we can fully surrender. We will practice being present in the body and discover how respecting our actual emotional state creates the conditions for more authentic movement qualities—qualities that maintain a connection to the energy and emotion we genuinely possess. Tomaž will share insights from his body of work that is based on introspection, exploring dance arising from the body's needs, and the embodiment of emotional energy through rhythm, movement sensation and space.
Tomaž Simatović is a performer, dancer, choreographer, educator, and independent researcher. He currently lives and works in Austria, where he develops dance and participatory projects within the framework of the "Laboratory for Participative Imaginaries”, in collaboration with András Meszerics. He studied dance at SEAD in Salzburg and earned an MA in Choreography from the ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in the Netherlands. As an educator, he has taught internationally—from the USA and Europe to China—where, over more than a decade of continuous teaching and choreographic and performance-based research, he focused on the embodiment of somatic experiences; this work led him to develop approaches (Somatic Listening and Bodyspeaking) rooted in the sensory listening of the body.
Evin Hadžialjević: Sodobni plesni klas / Contemporary dance class I
SLO

We will awaken the body and, through soft movement, guide it from the floor into the space. We will begin with a warm-up and an exploration of the basic elements of contemporary dance on the floor, gradually expanding the movement into standing phrases and transitions between different levels. With dance phrases we will travel through space while exploring different rhythms and dynamics. The focus will be on fluid, connected movement and a sense of flow—allowing movement to naturally transition from one element to the next and carry us through space.

In this class, we will also awaken the body through soft, connected movement and an exploration of the fundamental principles of contemporary dance. We will build on these foundations with a greater focus on spiral movement, transitions between levels, and traveling through space. We will play with different rhythms, accents, and movement dynamics, exploring the contrast between soft, flowing movement and more sharp, defined gestures. Throughout the class, we will cultivate a sense of playfulness in movement—surrendering to its flow while continuously redirecting it through small impulses, accents, and subtle shifts.
Evin Hadžialjević is a dancer and dance teacher whose practice has been rooted in movement since childhood. She studied contemporary dance at the Ljubljana Secondary School for Arts and Design and graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. She later pursued pedagogical studies in Koper and earned a Master of Arts in Movement from the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (AGRFT). Working across performance, choreography, and education, she has been an active presence on the Slovenian and international contemporary dance scene for many years. Her collaborations include EnKnapGroup, Jonah Bokaer, Mateja Bučar, Andreja Rauch Podrzavnik, and other renowned artists and creators in the field of contemporary performing arts.
