IT is a dance performance that deals with gender issues in our time. Most young people have started to strongly resist the strict definition of their own gender, even their sexuality. New terms have been coined such as; asexuality, gender binary, transgender, cisgender, AMAB, androgynous, aromantic, bind, biphobic, etc. Although all these new terms open up a new freedom for young people, they can also be restrictive and only create further confusion. Are these just the fads of the day, or are they new constructs that will endure?

Cunningham Tehnika
Cunningham Technique
In this class you will learn the fundamentals of the Cunningham technique — comprehensive back & leg work centered in the pelvis. After the warm-up you will enhance your ability to use your energy to inhabit and dialogue with the space around you through an adagio, a phrase moving across the floor and jumps. Emphasis throughout the class is on focusing both the body and mind in order to unleash your physical power.
17.O0 Ples življenja / Dance of life – ANN PAPOULIS (pogovor + video) / (talk + video)
The dance community in Slovenia is buzzing with excitement and joy as the incredible Ann Papoulis is returning to Ljubljana. Ann, a world-renowned dance educator and choreographer, has left a lasting impression on dancers across Slovenia with her unique blend of creativity, passion, and technical excellence. For many, Ann’s workshops have been life-changing experiences, helping them grow not only as dancers but as artists. Her return feels like a long-awaited reunion.
Ann Papoulis has an impressive background, having worked with the legendary Merce Cunningham. Cunningham’s groundbreaking approach to movement and choreography has had a lasting impact on the dance world, and Ann’s experience with his company speaks volumes about her depth of knowledge and skill. Her time with Cunningham shaped her understanding of movement, space, and the relationship between dance and music, all of which she brings into her teaching.
The conversation about her work and the meaning and understanding of Merce Cunningham's work will be moderated by Nina Meško.
